Sé Festivities

The centre of Funchal takes on a new life at the end of May with the traditional Madeiran celebrations in the form of a a huge street party.All streets and alleys between Praça do Município and Sé Cathedral will be decorated for the festivities. Restaurants and bars on João Tavira, Rua da Queimada de Cima, Rua da Queimada de Baixo, Bispo, Ferreiros streets and Chafariz Square join in with the celebrations, giving visitors the chance to sample traditional Madeiran delicacies and drinks.
Visitors will also be able to see performances by philharmonic bands, local music groups and folklore dancers at various points and stages around the area.
